What to Expect

  • Gather your family and friends for a morning of walking, cheering and celebrating your sickle cell warrior! Participants will check in at Citizens Bank Park, participate in activities, cheer on sickle cell patients and get active during the ceremonial walk.
  • Throughout the morning, participants will meet characters, play on moon bounces and have their face painted. All are encouraged to browse the sweepstakes baskets and submit bids for the Silent Auction. Additional details for the Silent Auction will be shared soon!
  • Prior to the walk, a short program will announce total dollars raised, top fundraising teams and share updates from the CHOP Sickle Cell Center. For more information about event day, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.

Registration

  • To get started, register or join a team by visiting the Cure Sickle Cell Walk registration page. Once you’ve signed up, you can personalize your fundraising page to share your story. Gather your friends, family, neighbors – anyone that you want to support your efforts – and raise funds for sickle cell research breakthroughs.
  • Virtual registration is available for patient families or other participants who are unable to attend. Virtual teams and participants will create a personal mileage goal that is meaningful to their sickle cell warrior’s journey. For example, a team might pledge to reach 45 miles for a child’s 45 days as an inpatient. Participants can choose their activity (running, walking, biking, etc.) to best fit their schedule. Whether you are an avid cyclist or enjoy a daily walk, you’ll be showing your virtual support to find a cure for children with sickle cell disease!
